Breakfast celebrations

For schools and services putting on a breakfast to celebrate a special event, try the following recipe idea:

Warm apple porridge

Ingredients:

  • 4 apples, peeled and grated
  • 160g rolled oats
  • 480mL reduced fat milk
  • 380mL water
  • 5 apples, peeled and grated
  • 200g rolled oats
  • 600mL reduced fat milk
  • 475mL water
  • 12 apples, peeled and grated
  • 500g rolled oats
  • 1.5L reduced fat milk
  • 1.2L water
  • 25 apples, peeled and grated
  • 1kg rolled oats
  • 3L reduced fat milk
  • 2.4L water

Method:

  1. Place all ingredients into a large saucepan and place on the stove on medium heat.
  2. Stir the mixture continuously until the oats are cooked.
  3. Divide the porridge into bowls and serve.
